I make ceramics that are designed to be used, touched and lived with every day. My work is shaped by a love of simple forms and natural surfaces. My pieces are generally thrown on the wheel but I turn to handbuilding when it’s the best way to realise a particular form, function or message. My glazes are layered and textured, reflecting stone, sand, and weathered surfaces that invite a closer look and touch.

I was born in Denmark and grew up in Norway, and the calm simplicity of Scandinavian design is part of how I work — soft shapes, earthy colours, and textures inspired by nature. I have lived in County Durham for over 25 years and I make my pots in my studio in Sunniside, Sunderland. The North East landscapes — the coast, the hills, the seasons — mixed with my Nordic roots, inspire my ceramic pieces.

Although my work is functional, I hope it offers more than practicality alone. I hope it brings a little quiet joy into everyday life — a mug that feels comforting in your hands, a bowl for shared meals with friends, or a vase that simply holds a beautiful single stem, inviting small moments of Scandinavian Hygge into your home.
