Black stoneware clay and reclaimed piece of roof rafter
Jeanet Ingwersen

Perched on a weathered roof rafter reclaimed from the artist's own home, this unglazed black clay figure captures a familiar character from the North East. Dressed in a flat cap and enjoying a can of beer. He reflects the quiet rituals, resilience and humour found in everyday working-class life, past and present. The piece celebrates the ordinary lives and shared memories that shape our communities, embodying the spirit of Keeping It Local.
