EDAN "Grid" exhibition - 2025

EDAN are celebrating the anniversary of twenty years since a group of artists from the East Durham area realised that there were no organisations or groups in East Durham that would encourage and support their continuing artistic development, and no designated local sites for exhibiting their work. They decided to create the East Durham Artists’ Network (EDAN) to fill the gap. In this exhibition we celebrate the success of that initiative.

Veterans Art Exhibition - EDAN Gallery 2024

EDAN Gallery are hosting an exhibition for the East Durham Veterans Trust. The East Durham Veterans Trust is a charity based in Seaham, England, which supports veterans and their families from across the North East, through three main areas. Firstly, case managing issues that a veteran or family member may have by offering practical support, this includes finance, housing etc. Secondly, through social inclusion and finally, to support veterans and their families with mental health coaching and wellbeing. Women's contribution to mining life, culture and politics During March 2024, EDAN Gallery will be showing an exhibition entitled 'Shifted: women's contribution to mining life, culture and politics'. The exhibition will cover the whole history of mining and will seek to shift attention towards the work that women did over nearly two centuries to support their families and their local community.
