We can think of anything from pools of water, through pooled gambling 'The Pools', shared resources among a specific group (a clothing pool?)

Human beings have been fascinated by the Moon since the dawn of time. We have often designated it a female deity – given names to it in various forms – Luna, Diana, Artemis, Selene.

These were sited in Fulwell (behind the mill and still in existence), Seaham, (demolished for the construction of the housing estate)
