This is an EDAN Artists Open exhibition marking the start of another year jam packed with creativity expressed in a multiplicity of media.

The "Winter" exhibition heralds the approaching season, blending art that captures winter’s promise and anticipation. Through evocative works, visitors experience the subtle transition from autumn to winter—frosty landscapes, cosy scenes, and icy dreams.

Our major themed exhibition of the year, "Mag Lime Magic." This show celebrates the unique natural heritage of the local Magnesian Limestone coast. With inspiration drawn from the area's geology through various artistic media.

Loosely, the grid point in question will be that of the EDAN Gallery.

2025 marks the 25th anniversary of the founding of EDAN. We would like to mark this with an exhibition that shows both the range of work that we are currently undertaking and also something of our history.

The word 'Pool' has a range of what appear to be very different meanings although they are all related through some notion of 'coming together and sharing'. We can think of anything from pools of water, through pooled gambling 'The Pools', shared resources among a specific group (a clothing pool?)

To celebrate secular and religious festivals of light, ancient and modern that characterise the winter period.

As winter approaches and the nights become longer, so the moon becomes more important in brightening our nights. Human beings have been fascinated by the Moon since the dawn of time. We have often designated it a female deity – given names to it in various forms – Luna, Diana, Artemis, Selene.

Using Art to represent the various stages of summer and the lifecycle of nature

The Soundmirror project is based upon the three soundmirrors that were constructed in 1915 to detect the approach of zeppelins approaching the Durham Coast. These were sited in Fulwell (behind the mill and still in existence), Seaham, (demolished for the construction of the housing estate)

This exhibition marks 200 years since the founding of RNLI. The RNLI have organised their own series of events, but we would like to mark the occasion from our own perspective as artists who have a relationship with the coast.

This was an open exhibition in which members were asked to submit work on any subject using any medium.

East Durham Veterans Art Hub have been invited to stage an exhibition of their work and are displaying their art in this exhibition
