Wood

JEclocks.co.uk

As a County Durham-based woodworker, I find inspiration in the natural world and the organic beauty of wood. Working primarily with old logs and driftwood, I transform each piece into a unique and functional clock. With my method of hand carving and shaping, I embrace the natural variations in shape, colour, texture and grain of the wood, allowing these elements to guide my creative process. My clocks not only tell the time, but also tell a story of the natural world's lasting impact. However, the true magic lies in the story behind the wood, each piece with its own unique history, adding depth and meaning to the work and serves as a reminder to slow down and appreciate the simple beauty of nature.

My art is both visual and tactile, inviting the viewer to connect with their surroundings and reflect on the beauty and significance of the natural world around them.
