Driftwood Plant Stand.

John Emerson
Driftwood Plant Stand.
The base of the stand is the natural shape of the roots of the tree with it's raw natural twists and hollows, sculpted and smoothed by the waves, salt and sand. The cherry top retains the cross-sectional irregular shape of the tree with a smooth silky finish on the surface. A living house plant is a continuation of the life of the of the driftwood root, a memory of life long past. In Old English folklore Cherry wood is a symbol of renewal and is thought to ward off restless spirits.
