Sunrise

My first effort at a textile using scraps of material begun at a workshop at the quilt shop in Birtley, and led by Laura Edgar. This introduced me to the possibilities of working creatively with material scraps overlaid with hand embroidery.
I have often taken solitary walks at sunrise. It is a favourite time of the day. |This piece evokes the glory of the sun rising over the sea.
