Reinvented Quilt

This hand stitched quilt references the quilts made by women of the mining communities of the past. The stitched patterns combine a traditional Durham flower motif with the contemporary recycling symbol, seen on modern packaging. The shades of green fabric used to create this work are themselves recycled satin furnishing fabric samples.
