Parton Rocks, The Headland, Hartlepool draws upon the quiet presence of an open shoreline under a vast sky. Layers of soft, shifting cloud suggest the gentle passage of time, creating a sense of stillness that feels both expansive and intimate.

At low tide, waves move softly against rocks worn smooth and darkened by algae and seaweed, transforming the shoreline into a place of quiet escape from the demands of everyday life. The textured surface reflects the slow rhythm of water shaping the land.

This work is rooted in memory, recalled most vividly during the depths of winter, when bitter northern winds and incoming storms make the warmth of remembered stillness feel especially distant and precious.
