Undergrowth

This is a mixed media picture featuring the silhouette of a Lesser Burnet, Salad Burnet. This plant can be found growing in the local magnesian limestone grasslands. In the picture the stitched plant’s roots appear to be penetrating the top soil with the shapes and textures of the rock below and surrounding the plant.
