Tangilen 1

This work was developed from explorations into manipulating and drying kelp. I have experimented with kelp as a material, and I am fascinated by the way it transforms, changes state and becomes hard and strong as it dries out. The addition of moisture restores it back to its original state. Upcycled steel was selected as a background because of the way it has started to develop a rusty patina which links to transformation and change of state.
