Hand & Machine Embroidery on Painted Canvas
Sandra Totty

Celebrating the resilience and beauty of wildflowers in untamed landscapes, this series of hand and machine embroidered artworks explores connections between flora, pollinators, and habitat. Intersecting threads symbolise relationships among plants, insects, and wildlife that depend on these environments, while honeycomb patterns represent bees and pollinators vital to ecosystems. The work highlights nature’s richness and the importance of protecting habitats they need to survive.

Vibrant thistles grow in a painted wilderness, showing how nature can thrive when it is left alone.
