This piece was painted from a photo I took on a gloriously sunny, early autumn day in 2021 while walking with friends in Northumberland. The light on the heather and sheep was sublime and crying out to be painted. This painting reminds me now of a perfect day shortly after the rigours of covid lockdowns and symbolises regained freedoms.
