Celtic Kelp

Celtic Kelp
Jac Seery Howard
Having been gifted an intriguing kelp holdfast on a piece of Shetland granite, it was hard not to see a Viking ship, and thus, an organic 'morphing' of the two forms began. the intertwined strands of the holdfast are reminiscent of Celtic knotwork, hence the title. Using a map as a substrate felt appropriate since it is hoped that re-instating our island's kelp forests may slow down coastal erosion.
