Transience

Transience
Angela Sandwith
This artwork originated from research into the formation of the Magnesian limestone cliffs at Seaham. The decay of materials, textures and transformations which took place in their formation fired my imagination. Plein air drawings at different times of the day and modelmaking helped me to gain an understanding of the structure of the Magnesian Limestone. The colours, shadows and textures of the cliff face constantly change, depending on the time of day and the weather. New worlds are discovered, especially at sunset.
