Celestial Cradle

Coal is "old energy": it is heavy, dirty, buried in the earth, and has cost many lives over the centuries.

The future of our energy needs, solar or fusion, literally comes from the heavens. The holy grail of nuclear energy is represented in my sculpture "Celestial Cradle". It symbolises the capturing of the Cosmos' energy by the representation of plasma or nuclear fusion in the purple sparks, surrounded by the empty Cosmos.

While coal is energy we dig up, the future of energy is what we capture from the Cosmos.
