Kelp Study 1

Kelp Study 1
Anthony Carr
Before taking part in the Stronger Shores project it's fair to say that I didn't really pay all that much attention to kelp other than I'd noticed it's often seen washed up in a tangle on the beach or sometimes clinging to rocks when the tide is low.
But after looking closer I noticed how there are shapes and textures that share a resemblance to the animals and creatures that also live in and around the ocean. Maybe you can make out an ankle of a Seagull or the skin of a whale, kelp even takes on a shape similar to waves or a seascape, as if it has adopted various characteristics of other sea life to give it the best possible chance to live and thrive successfully in its environment.
