6 North Terrace
Watercolour & Fineliner
Peter Brewis
One of a series of 5 watercolour paintings of buildings local to the EDAN Gallery in Seaham.
Originally built around 1898, this property served as a branch of Martin's Bank, a major clearing bank at the time with roots going back centuries; it later merged with Barclays. This substantial building has an imposing, symmetrical presence blending elements of Victorian Gothic/Queen Anne Revival with classical detailing on the ground floor. The property was renovated and reopened in 2024 as Grace Kelly’s Irish Lounge
