Blast Overview

An abstraction of the view south along the cliffs towards Chourdon Point from Nose's Point at Seaham's Blast Beach. The found object is a section of pit conveyor belt more than likely from Dawdon Colliery. The image was developed from observational drawings of the scene made in different media, subsequently torn, displaced, inverted - in much the same way that successive industries did to this landscape for over a century.
