Echoes of Autumn

Echoes of Autumn
Cyanotype
Nasim Akhtar
This cyanotype captures a dried Agapanthus seed head, pressed onto the light-sensitive surface to preserve the delicate traces of its final form. Suspended within deep blue tones, the image evokes the quiet transition from growth to decay, carrying the echoes of autumn’s harvest. The scattered seeds appear to drift beyond the stem, suggesting movement, dispersal, and renewal. Through the cyanotype process, an ordinary botanical specimen is transformed into a contemplative landscape of memory and change. The work reflects on the cyclical nature of life, where endings become beginnings and beauty persists in the fragile remnants of a passing season.
