Slowing Down the White Horses

Slowing Down the White Horses
Carol White
The object of the Stronger Shores organisation is to slow down and break the power of the waves to reduce the damage they cause as they hit the shores.
White Horses is a visual metaphor which arises from the white foam in the waves resembling the white manes of the horses . In Celtic Mythology they’re associated with the Sea God ‘Manannan Mac Lir’ and ‘the horses of Manannan’. This painting shows the forming white horses at sea and then slowing as they arrive ashore. Sea Kelp under their hooves will have slowed them down.
