Stapled and scarred
Salvaged industrial steel relic from Blast Beach, reclaimed wooden gatepost, original iron staples
Angela Sandwith
The heavily pitted steel object was found on the Blast beach Seaham, it was obviously left over from the town's industrial past. Pairing it with a section of scarred wooden gatepost, taken out when the field fence was renewed, creates a direct dialogue between Seaham's industrial heritage and its rural landscapes.
Both share a matching story of weathering, decay and resilience.
