Corrupted Reflection

Corrupted Reflection
Nasim Akhtar
This explores the idea that reflections, like memories, do not remain intact. Over time they shift, distort, and fragment, shaped less by truth and more by perception and emotion.
This work does not present a literal reflection. Instead, it represents a reconstructed one, altered intentionally rather than observed faithfully. The disrupted surface suggests the way recollection can fracture, while the “tear” acts as a visual break between what was and what is remembered. The red spheres are placed deliberately.
Through texture, contrast, and controlled placement, the piece reflects on how we unconsciously edit our past, reshaping reflection into something personal, subjective, and inevitably corrupted.
