North Gare Loophole
Photography
Anthony Carr
Looking through a window (loophole) of the North Gare WWII Pillbox towards a docked ship which assembles the wind turbines situated off the coast of Redcar.
I like to think about what this small bunker has seen over the years, what fuel or equipment needed to generate energy and power has travelled past its windows and been viewed from this one spot, the coal and oil shipped to and from the Tees, Hartlepool Nuclear Power Station creating fusion, the decommissioned oil rigs (Brent Alpha, Bravo and Charlie Platforms) arriving to be dismantled and now Turbines leaving to farm the wind.
