Living Among the Kelp

I chose this composition of an underwater scene depicting the important role that kelp plays, not only in providing a safe habitat (and food source) for the myriad of sea-life along our coast, but also the role it plays in protecting our shoreline from wave erosion, helping to 'dampen down' the waves, taking out their power (to some extent) before they crash into and wear away the coastline. I hoped to reveal to the viewer, a glimpse of the fascinating eco-system that exists beneath the waves.
