Castles- Small x1

Castles- Small x1
Kay Holborn Bond
We live in a post industrial landscape and an incredibly historic one, with thousands of years of history easily told within one small county. The castle shapes are a reminder that Northumberland (everything above the Humber) is the most castle populated region of the four regions of historic post Roman Britain (Northumberland, Mercia, Wessex and East Anglia). The black of the clay is for coal and the rusting metal is for the industries that were County Durham's backbone during the regions recent industrial history. Everything that this region has gone through, from the romans to now has left an imprint on the landscape and its people, including me.
