Compacted coal waste removal, Blast Beach, Seaham
Watercolour
George Browell
The paths down to the Northern end of Blast Beach are on top of years of compacted coal waste, as is the raised platform on the beach. In the not too distant future it will all be washed away into the sea and the former line of the Magnesian Limestone cliffs and the original beach will be revealed.
