After the rain

I walk past this scene several times each week and have done so for most of my life. The farmer who owns the land has attempted, over the years, to stop this corner of his field from flooding. He has tried digging ditches and building earth dams etc but to no avail, nature still has its way. Every time after heavy rain this flooding still occurs. Personally, unknown to the farmer, I’m secretly pleased that nature prevails for it provides appealing seasonal changes which enhance the quality of my walks.
