The watercolour was taken from a sketch of a flat slab of rock at the base of the cliff at Souter Point, Marsden. I never cease to be intrigued by the colours and patterns revealed by magnesian limestone formation. Every rock is unique and although there are repeating features, no pattern is like any other.
