Echoing Mosaics: Seas Saphhire Song

In “Echoing Mosaics: Sea’s Sapphire Song,” I explore the multitude of shapes I can make using a small circular piece of granite as my tool. Working with changing shades of blue inspired by the summer sea, I became fascinated by the different textures that emerged. Each circle became a telescopic view: a miniature portal into the ever-changing surface of the ocean. The variations in colour and pattern evoke how the sea appears on different days, its mood shaped by light and cloud, much like how our own emotions shift in response.

I worked in a grid pattern to generate an overall abstract impression of a seascape. This artwork reflects the interplay between outer landscapes and inner feelings, where each fragment captures the resonant echoes of the sea’s sapphire song.
