As Time Goes By
Carol White
This painting shows the famous hole in the cliff at Seaham beach. It’s hard to comprehend the millions of years these cliffs have been here. Long before life itself. Most people probably never consider the timeline of the rock formations as they walk the beaches. Just cliffs, always there, the cold blue grey sea battering with the high tides and not thinking about their Permian times and the Zechstein Seas. Maybe not much has changed here except for the life of man who may well change this planet forever . I’ve tried to imagine the warmer oceans of those times as I've painted this watercolour.
