Mara is a Photographic Artist based in the North East of England on the beautiful Durham Heritage Coast.  In her work, she explores ideas of memory, place, healing and physicality.  Recently she has focused on ideas of being physically present in an increasingly virtual society, exploring ideas of making art through a tactile experience using local plants and cameraless photography in a traditional darkroom.  She is best known for her botanical art created using the Victorian Cyanotype and Lumen processes developed at the birth of photography in the 19th Century.
