I studied part-time at Sunderland University for a BA(Hons) in Fine Art, followed by an MA in Art & Design in Context.

Having initially trained as a painter, I now work mostly with wood, sometimes carved, sometimes assembled as kinetic sculptures or automata.

I am very interested in music and my artwork is often music related. Sometimes I use musical instruments in my work. I take them apart and reconstruct them in a different way to either tell a story, perhaps about a music icon, or just portray an idea.

I am originally from Middlesbrough and while studying at Sunderland University, I met my wife, Joy, and we now live in Sunderland.

I enjoy being a member of EDAN, it gives me the opportunity to meet like minded creative people, and to take part in exhibitions when I have something to show.
