Rock Face (unfinished)

My textiles begin with real places or objects that I attempt to 'get to know' as deeply as possible. I have known the magnesian limestone rocks and cliffs of Seaham all my life. I have photographed them, sketched them, taken rubbings from them, listened to talks about them and undertaken research relating to their formation and composition. It is unfinished because of a broken wrist, and other health issues, but that in some ways represents the condition of the mag lime landscape - always a work in progress', shaped by the vagaries of nature.
