Woodland Fireworks
Tony Frisby
This photograph is of a tree trunk at Ushaw College near Durham. The tree was felled some time ago and the remaining stump has been exposed to the elements and has started to be colonised by mosses, lichens etc. I love the colours, patterns and textures created as the trunk decays as well as the scratches and marks from the chainsaw used to cut down the tree.
