Bill Holmes

I have spent most of my life walking and exploring in the local countryside around Murton, my home village. Being there instils a sense of well being and its varied sights, structures, textures, sounds and smells, provide a constant source of inspiration for my artwork.

My relationship with the world around me is quite uncomplicated, for the simple fact, that it is always there, wherever and whenever I look. It presents itself in an infinite variety of shapes, forms, colours, textures and arrangements, structured, but often chaotic, a bit like human nature really. I hope my paintings display some of these observations and characteristics.
