I was born in Tyne Dock in South Shields.  I have belonged to several art groups since I retired from the Youth and Community service. I have worked as a youth worker in Boston in Massachusetts and have an interest in teaching Judo and Tai Chi.

I like to show my work locally, regionally and internationally.  I have work displayed in the Houses of Parliament next to the Great Hall. I particularly enjoy oil painting and my work depicts industrial and social history with regard to ship building and mining in the Sunderland area.  I am self-taught and like to show colour variations and light differences in my works. My paintings reflect the dignity of the working man in an industrial scenario, the connected landscape and community ethos.

I am an active member of EDAN and have worked hard to promote the group over several years.
