Michael is a local artist, born and bred in County Durham and living in the area all his life.

Michael is primarily a landscape artist who takes his inspiration from the outdoors whether locally or further afield, using traditional, water mixable and oil sticks for his work often with a combination of all these mediums.

 

e has begun to experiment further with wax, sands, and dust to create movement and texture to further evoke individual feelings and responses to his landscapes.

His work is continually evolving, and he often paints in series, exploring his ideas which lead him on an artistic journey which is demonstrated in his variety of work.

 

He is keenly influenced by colour theory, different schemes and harmonies within his work which can lead to both literal and more abstract pieces.
